POVERTY SUMMIT MOVES FORWARD

The International Poverty Conference being held on Lotus Notes and the internet has moved past the half-way mark with the opening of the fourth theme:

A LOOK AT POVERTY IN THE CONTEXT OF GLOBAL ECONOMICS TODAY.

The discussion section of the web-site includes papers on the major issues of globalisation and debt relief. But there are also round-table presentations on practical topics such as Housing and Homelessness, Children, Refugees and Asylum Seekers. Major Karengesha, a Zimbabwean officer, opens the issue of land for the poor.

Lt Col Dr Herb Rader and Captain Fran Rader review Salvation Army missionary strategy, responding to the question whether Salvation Army missionary strategy was simply an extension of its relationship with the poor.

Earlier themes are accessible in the archive section of the web-site, and comments and discussion are still welcome.
